Purdy This city was  planned in 1880 and named after George A. Purdy, a railroad official and real estate agent. It is situated eight miles south of Monett and twelve miles north of Cassville along Highway 37.

Purdy School District The Purdy AmeriCorps Reading Coach Program has been assisting the students of Purdy Elementary since 1999. These dedicated members provide literacy-based, individual and group tutoring during the school day.

Purdy Fire Department Located on the corner of Washington Avenue and Front Street, this fire department is staffed by all volunteer firefighters.
